Flamingo by the Beach (Penang, Malaysia)

This is a sequel to my post Penang Island Escapade last weekend. Our first family holiday in Penang, Malaysia was fortuitous. I don't know anything about Penang until an ex-colleague of mine offered me a hotel voucher worth S$80 for 3D-2N stay at Flamingo by the Beach formerly known as Crown Jewel Hotel. I googled its website right away and fell in love with the place there and then. Hubby agreed to grab the irresistable offer and he booked our air tickets in time for my daughter's school holiday last March.

The 4-star hotel offers a choice of room, either hill view

or beach view.

I bet you already guessed which one we chose. Upon reaching our room, this is what greeted us when we checked the veranda.

The hotel offers an array of water sports such as parasailing,

canoeing,

and banana boat rides.

There are also horse rides along the beach shore offered to people who aren't very brave for water sports. :)

Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

They have good facilities such as the swimming pool where Kyla had a blast

and the coffee house... but we didn't really eat in the hotel that much!

The cheap local food around the hotel vicinity is just mouthwatering! I am a beef lover so I savoured what I ordered (sorry I forgot what it's called locally) but Penang Laksa is a definitely a must try. Hubby enjoyed it to the max while the little girl devoured on her Chicken Rice. :)
