R.M.S. Titanic Boarding Pass Replica |
Step on board RMS Titanic for the first time in Southeast Asia, and experience the majestic and dramatic maiden voyage of the iconic Ship almost 100 years after it set sail in 1912. The Exhibition takes visitors through the Ship's conception, construction, sailing day, life on board, the famous iceberg, Titanic's sinking, the discovery of the wreck, while all throughout telling the incredible stories of her passengers and crew.
With a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger onboard the Titanic, embark on the journey through about 275 authentic artifacts - of which 14 have never been seen before - such as china etched with the logo of the elite White Star Line, sheet music and jewelry items, and extensive re-creations of the First and Third Class Cabins, the Grand Staircase, Boiler Room and other locations on Titanic. Finally, find out how the sinking of the great Ship strongly resonated in Singapore at the “Singapore 1912” gallery. ~ SOURCE
Catch the Titanic:The Artifact Exhibition at ArtScience Museum before it ends on 29th of April 2012. Though photography is strictly not allowed, you can have a photo taken by the museum photographers ala Jack and Rose at the triangular edge of the ship right before you enter the exhibition. Inside the exhibition, you can also have another photo taken at the elegant ship staircase. We didn't take any as you have to pay for it. Lol!
What i love most is the iceberg replica made of real ice and the ship's observation deck where you can stargaze. It feels like the stars were real and when you look down, you see the waves. They did a pretty good job in making waves effect using a constantly moving light and because it was very dark on that part, it feels like you are really on board the ship. On a funny note, there was this part of the exhibition where you have to step on a glass and below the glass floor is sand where relics of the sunken ship are found. My mom almost don't want to step on the glass floor. Hehehe! Just additional info, i saw a whole list of those who died and survived during the ill-fated shipwreck before we left the exhibition. I must say it's worth what we paid for but the downside is, Kyla together with the hubby never wish to go on a cruise ship all the more so mommy's dream to go on a cruise will forever be a dream. Lol!

haha, I am like Kyla and Mond, I think I will be super bored when I am in cruise ship, but I can take a day cruise just to see whales and visit nearby islands like what we always do here in San Diego. Glad to hear from you about this, since I am planning to check this exhibit too when they come here in San Diego in February. Thanks for the info, Che.
