Family Journal: Sacrament of Reconciliation

September 9, 2011

Sacrament of Reconciliation | Holy Trinity Church
9th of September 2011, Kyla received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
(FYI: She was one year behind in her catechism class as we enrolled her a year later when she first came to stay with us for good in Singapore.)

There was no given dress code for the occasion but the children were given a black and white reversible garment to wear. At the start of the celebration, they wore the black garment that was meant to represent sin.

After having completed the 10 steps in celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation, they reversed the garment to show the white part that symbolizes the absence of sin.

Afterwhich, Kyla received a gift and a certificate from Father Edward. Most importantly, she learned the meaning of forgiveness.

We fervently pray that Kyla will continue to grow as a forgiving child of God. She is now looking forward to receive the Sacrament of First Communion this coming September.

Thank you, Dear God for another meaningful and memorable page in the book of our family life.

  5. This is an exciting part in a child's life. I still remember when I had my first communion, the funny part is we had to make a confession first, my friends and I were very nervous about what sins we will tell the priest. We didn't know any better hahaha

Oh Kyla, you are a very pretty girl !
