Golden Village Launched State-of-the-Art Cinemas at City Square

Singapore's leading cinema exhibitor, Golden Village (GV) continues to revolutionize the local entertainment industry by launching its 11th cinema location, GV City Square at Singapore's first eco-mall.

Hubby and I took the opportunity to have our once in a blue moon couple time to be one of the firsts to experience the brand new GV multiplex at City Square Mall.

Showcasing the next generation cinema, GV City Square features cutting edge technologies that enhance the film going experience and empower audiences. The newest GV multiplex houses six cinema auditoriums with a total seating capacity of 1082, of which one auditorium will be a unique and intimate 42-seater "Couple's Cinema".

"Couple's Cinema" boasts twin seats with lift-able arm rest, cozy and comfortable seats with privacy and wide leg room. It features a unique seating layout where pairs of cinema seats are situated a distance away from one another, allowing couples to cosy up to each other in their personal private space. Tickets are also sold in pairs.

In fact, for the first time in Singapore's cinema history, GV invited the public to have a stake in naming the cinema hall. It was temporarily called "Couple's Cinema" as the hall is conceptualised to function for couples. I wonder what will be its final name. If you ask me, I would suggest "The Lovebirds Cinema". Haha! I know, I know! My brain has not been working in its fullest potential due to work-related stress. Ok now, I'm excused for being lame. LOL.

Now, let's talk about our awesomest experience in viewing the epic finale of the Twilight Saga at GV Cinema Hall 6. Fellow fanatics of Jacob-Bella-Edward, I can hear you screeeeaaaaaaaaaaaamiiiing! LOL! I know I am a tad too old to scream but hey, I am a fangirl too! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Breaking Dawn 2 is definitely a must watch! Everyone's jaw dropped at the unexpected twist. Haha!

The 7.1 Dolby digital sound and premium-grade EAW® speakers from the United States made our viewing experience beyond memorable. Each character in the movie are being heard loud and clear enough that no one will ever be left out when everyone is laughing at the "done already?"  and many other unforgettable punch lines in the movie. Apart from that, we extremely enjoyed the outstanding sound effects too. The wolves are way too loud when they are angry. But who will ever mind an angry wolf as yummy as Jacob? Haha!

When you topped brilliant casting, acting and "happily ever after" story with wall-to-wall digital screens and crystal clear 2K digital projection, expect a state-of-the-art one of a kind viewing experience! The seats are very cozy and comfortable too with ample leg room. You don't have to worry about bumping fellow viewers when you need a quick toilet break. Hubby and I will definitely come back and watch at "Couple's Cinema" on our next elusive date night.

GV City Square is conveniently located at 180 Kitchener Road, #05-02/03, City Square Mall, Singapore 208539. It is directly linked to Farrer Park MRT station. Movie goers who are interested to watch the latest movies at the brand-new GV City Square are welcome to check newspaper directory listings or log on to www.gv.com.sg for updated screening times.

Congratulations Golden Village on the successful launch and opening of GV City Square! I am equally excited on the re-launching of the enhanced version of iGV - Golden Village's mobile ticketing application which will be available by the end of the year. For your info, the enhanced mobile app will be compatible with smartphone platforms such as iOS and Android, followed by Windows early next year.

Special thanks to omy.sg for the invite and two free tickets for Breaking Dawn 2. Blogging has never been this fun since I joined the Omy Blog Club. You guys never fail to rock my world. :)

  14. Wow! State-of-the-art talaga . I must admit, type kong ma-enjoy ang Couple's cinema. Ang ganda ng seat arrangement, as if you are just in your own living room.  TS is a very nice film, parang bitin lang ang ending.
