A Singer in the Making

guitar photo taken with instagram

We bought this guitar from a thrift store for our music lover girl earlier. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you'd know by now that K is very interested in music. She loves to play the organ and she recently expressed interest in playing the guitar.

To support her love for music, we let her audition for the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir earlier this year. We were so elated when she passed the audition and even though it required a little bit of sacrifice on our part to bring her to her choir practice at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts every Saturday, our efforts paid off. She was able to finish two terms already and she's looking forward to attend term 3 next year.

I may be biased but K has a potential to be a singer. During her limited play time in front of the PC, she plays her favourite songs in YouTube as she sings along. I must admit, she is currently using a lousy earphone. I am eyeing on this affordable beyerdynamic dt 770 pro from guitar center. I am sure she will have a great time listening to music if I am going to get her that cool headphone. Who knows she will be recording her own song in the near future?

  7. Wow!  First word that came out of my mouth.. I love music as well, and I play organ/keyboard and guitar.. That's great that you're there to support your child's interest in music, and that you do your part so well as a parent to nurture the talent she has, in that way, it won't go unnoticed and wasted.. Keep it up!  I wish her well! =)
