Ways to Increase Your Computer's Overall Speed

blogging corner

I have been blogging since 2008 (read: friendster days) and oh boy I am hooked! All thanks to our trusted PC that has been tested by time and tide. It is now (more or less) 6 years old and still working. By that I meant, the PC can still be used but it works oh-so-slow. Talk about my top pet peeve.

I know patience is a virtue but I am not gifted with one when it doesn't concern my kids and er, source of income (read: my permanent job, not my part-time blogging). I easily get irritated when I try to open a program or file and it takes forever to launch. In the span of 6 years, our PC's speed decreased significantly and I can't blog anymore in my comfortable pace.

Uploading a photo that used to take less than a minute now takes gazillion years. It's totally unacceptable for me. I just hate waiting and I can go arrrrrrrgggh. Ok I confess, I am probably the most impatient blogger in the whole wide world. Sheeesh. Shame on me, I know...

I grumbled to the hubby and he suggested two solutions to my blogging dilemma.

Solution no.1:
Clean up the PC's hard drive, delete all unnecessary files and programs.

Solution no.2:
Do disk defragmentation.

Solution no. 1 is easy-breezy-lemon-squeezy. I can do it with eyes closed without the hubby's help. But solution no.2 sounds very foreign to the not-so-tech-savvy me.

What is disk defragmentation?

Uncle Google to the rescue!
Disk defragmentation describes the process of consolidating fragmented files on your computer's hard disk.

Oooookaaaaaaaaay. 'Nuff said. I will get the tech-savvy hubby to do it for me. Hehehe.
