Random Act of Kindness

I went to Tanglin Mall for lunch earlier and encountered a fellow mom struggling with her two children, one baby on her chest sleeping soundly in a sling and another one holding her hands full of baby bags.

While waiting for the stop light to turn green so that we could cross the road, the sun decided to give its full energy. I immediately took out the umbrella from my bag and shared it with the struggling mom to protect her child from the scorching heat.

Fellow mom: Oh, thank you so much. It's really tough to be a mother.

Me: *Smiles at her* You're most welcome. I know, I'm a mom too.

Fellow mom: You work around here?

Me: I do. You need me to help you carry the bags?

Fellow mom: No thanks. Don't worry, I can manage.

*and we chatted like we've known each other for a long time and i felt really good after we parted ways*

Earlier part of the day, I am feeling so low for no reason. It's that time of the month when I sink in to a mild depression, incomprehensible mood swings and  crazy food cravings.

It's true what some people say; "When you are feeling down, go and cheer up somebody out there and you end up feeling great."

But then again, you don't need to wait until you are feeling low to do random act of kindness. Ain't no angel but I help strangers and pray for strangers anywhere and anytime of the day. I must be a monkee in my past life. Visit momastery.com to know what I am blaberring about. Glennon and the rest of the monkees do such a great job in spreading love and saving lives. What I randomly do is just a pinch of the greatness they do all the time.

Wish we women do not have to go through this.
