How to Establish Your Theme with Party Invitations

how to establish your theme with party invitations

Having a theme for any party will give your guests a great experience during the event. A great way to get guests excited about your event is to include your theme in your party invitations. This way the guests know what to expect even before they arrive at your party. It’s kind of like a sneak peek into what fun things you are going to have planned.

Before you order or make your party invitations, make sure you have a solid theme set. It does not matter what the theme is. If you do not have a solid plan in place, then your guests will not know what the theme is and they may be disappointed when they arrive at your party.

A great way to incorporate a theme into your party invitation is using colors and graphics that you will include in your party decorations at the event. Invitations for baby showers, for example, have a pretty obvious theme, but you can get creative with how you spell it out!  You can even state in large letters across the invitation as to what the theme will be. For example, if you are having a spring themed party, you can have pastel colors, images of birds and bunnies, and have a title such as “Spring is in the air!”

Depending on what kind of party it is, you will include the theme in your invitations in different ways. For example, if you are having a child’s birthday party, you might want to include simpler language on the invitation, and maybe even stating the theme outright so the child knows what to expect. You might even have cartoons or a popular character all children recognize. For parties for adults or other special occasions, you can match the language to the level of your guests. You might not need to include images, even having your theme colors will be enough for your guests to get a hint of the theme of the party. If you decide to add an image, you don’t need to worry about making sure the image is of a popular character. Any simple images will do, such as a beach ball for a pool party.

If you have special instructions so your guests will fit into the theme of your party, make sure you include those instructions right in the invitation. Making sure your invitations are clear and easy to understand ensures that everyone will have a great time once the party is happening.
