*This post is inspired by the latest blog entry of Frances of Topaz Horizon, Reader Question: Is Your Life for Real?
My blog readers and facebook friends think my life IS perfect because I constantly post blog entries that are full of positivity and all I write about are the good things about my life. My facebook statuses are randomly shared to make other people feel good and be inspired.
Here's the impression I leave my blog readers and facebook friends in doing so:
I have a sustainable career (my full-time 9am-6pm job), I have rewarding hobbies (blogging and amateur photography), I am blessed with two beautiful children who loves me despite my shortcomings and flaws, and above all I have a PERFECT husband and we are living happily ever after.
Is my life for real?
Without batting an eyelash, I'd say YES!
It is true that I have found the best employers in the world. Superman and my ladyboss are God-centered and they are one of the kindest souls I have ever met. I don't have to tell you in detail what are their weaknesses because all you need to know are the ADMIRABLE THINGS about them so that you will start to ADMIRE other people too instead of dwelling into their not-so-admirable persona.
It is true that I have hobbies that open so many doors of great opportunities and allow me to have some quality momMe time. I honestly never imagined blogging and amateur photography to be this rewarding (I earn extra income, I received so many rewards and I get invited to exclusive previews, food tastings and fun events). I opt not to show you the ugly side of being a blogger because all you need to know are the GOOD STUFF so that you will start seeing the GOOD in your life too instead of dwelling into the bad ones.
It is true that I have two beautiful, healthy and smart children but it doesn't mean that my life as a mother is bed of roses. I have my own terrible MOMents but I choose to share you my BLISSFUL MOMents because that's all you need to know so that you will start creating your own BLISS with your children/love ones.
No, my husband ain't perfect. I'd rather say he is perfectly IMPERFECT. It is true that he is the most responsible, supportive, caring and loving husband/father in the whole universe (in my opinion, of course) but just like me, he is deeply flawed. I don't have to tell you the horrible words we throw each out of anger because all you need to know are the SWEET things we do for each other so that you will start savouring the SWEET taste of your own marriage.
It is true that we are living happily ever after but we have our own trials and tribulations. I choose to share you our BLESSED life so that you will start to be grateful about all the BLESSINGS you receive instead of focusing on your problems or what you don't have.
So yes dear blog readers and facebook friends, all you need to know are the good things about my life.
Love, happiness and overflowing blessings from my family to yours.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteKeep the love burning and flowing. It's so infectious when you only imbibe love, happiness and positive thoughts among your friends and readers.
My mantra is to never wash my dirty linen in public and I chose to be happy and positive despite the similar flawed and imperfect life I lead. There are bleak moments but who doesn't have them? We all do and we can only continue to count our blessings.
Thanks for this happy and inspiring post. May you have a wonderful year ahead together with your family. Mwah!
