My University Days

Can you spot me in the above photo? That was taken at the new (new during our time, haha) College of Dentistry building at Centro Escolar University, Philippines with all the then aspiring dentists (majority are licensed dentists now) with our class adviser, Ms Alcontin some time in 1998. It makes me wish we had university class rings as a lasting memento of our university days.

The photo brings back gazzilion memories of the dental infirmary. We started from tedious tooth wax carving to challenging simulator tooth preparation and went on to nerve-racking (initially) actual handling of real patients. Emotionally exhilarating, physically draining and pocket money burning all at the same time. We had our fair share of sleepless nights and penniless days. :D

Care to share the memories of your university days?

  1. What a nice class photo!
I'll take a guess as to which one is you...third row back, 5th one in from the right side, and looks to be the tallest male directly behind you. Am I even close? ;-)

  7. That is one of my regrets. I never bother to buy my class ring when I was still in the Philippines. Hopefully, when I get back home, it will not cost that much.

  9. My mom gifted me my college ring with an emerald center to represent my alma mater's color of choice: Green. :)
I still have it but it doesn't fit me anymore. However, it will be kept as a heirloom. it is something I will treasure because my mom gave it and it reminds me of happy days back in college.

  11. Seeing your class picture makes me fret about our yearbook. I was one of the officers. Four years since our graduation, we still haven't got the chance to finish our yearbook. :(
