Sometime last year, my daughter received curio coins at Port of Lost Wonder as a gift. The coins came in a very cute burlap gift bag. She used up all the curio coins already but I kept and recycled the burlap bag. It now holds my loose coins.
You can shop for burlap gift bags for as low as 65 cents and enjoy the fabulous ideas on how to use and reuse them. Burlap, also known as hessian is an eco-friendly material made of woven fabric. If you search in the internet, you can find a long list on how to upcycle them. Here are brilliant ideas I found in the world wide web:
- it can be reused as a coaster
- it can be reused as a gift wrap/gift bag
- it can be reused as utensil holder
- it can be reused as coffee bean sack
- it can be reused as a placemat
- it can be reused as jewelry organizer
- it can be reused as felt banner
- it can be reused as a clothe ornament
- it can be reused in upholstery
- it can be reused as a memo board
- it can be reused as a pillow case
- it can be reused as a plant bag
Happy shopping and upcycling!
