Remember our one foodie weekend? Let me continue some stories that I left out in that post. Sunday, we wandered around RWS. When we got tired, we decided to go back to Vivo City for some gastronomic adventure.
We have no particular restaurant in mind but I remembered there's the newly opened Jamie's Italian (the famous celebrity chef Jamie Oliver opened a restaurant in Singapore). We went to check it out and it's full-house so I whispered to the hubby, we'll come back when it's just the two of us. My big rabbit heard it and gave me her infamous line "that's not fair!" Hahaha!
Yes, we are officially a foodie family. The Singaporean's love for food has been rubbed on us after living here for a couple of years now. We almost tried Poulet which is right opposite Jamie's Italian but I whispered the hubby again, let's try it some other time.
My being indecisive led us to Ichiban Boshi, the hubby spotted it and gave me the signal we will eat here whether you like it or not. Haha.
Here's what we devoured:
1) Soft Shell Crab Tempura
Soft shell crab is one of the hubby's ultimate favourite. It has become mine and my girl's too. It serves as either an appetizer or a side dish.
2) Kaisen Salad
3) Hotate Cheese Yaki
Yes you guessed it right! This is my pick. The cheese and mushroom lover me just couldn't resist this scallop and enoki mushroom with cheese. Have I ever mentioned here before that I.LOVE.SCALLOP too? I recommend this to cheese/mushroom/scallop lovers out there.
4) Honetsuki Torimomo Mushi
My chicken lover girl's pick: In layman's term, it is a stewed drumstick with potato salad. For the record, she almost finished everything all by herself. She hesitantly shared us the mashed potato. Haha!
5) Sushi
Of course our Japanese food adventure won't be complete without sushi. The girl's been bugging us to eat at UmiSushi so she had her fill on regular plates of sushi she picked by herself. She only left one each for me and her dad. Our girl's appetite grows like crazy when she loves the food.Needless to say, we all left with happy tummies. It is true, Ichiban Boshi is more than just sushi. You have to go try it yourself. And no, this is not a paid review. We paid the bill in full including GST. :P
Here are dining table options and more ambiance photos from Ichiban Boshi, Vivo City branch:
