Mason Jar Breakfast Parfait Recipe

Confession: I seldom prepare breakfast for the hubby. He leaves for work before me and we don't really eat big breakfasts at home. Most of the time, we just have a cup of hot choco and whole wheat bread with cheese.

Revelation: The hubby is in for a healthy breakfast treat, lovingly prepared by yours truly. All thanks to Poulet's tiramisu jar, I finally able to whip up a mason jar breakfast parfait which I have been drooling over on Instagram.

Tadaaaaa!!!

This yummy and healthilicious breakfast is made of:

  • Greek style yogurt
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Banana nut crunch
FYI:

Greek yogurt is a high protein dairy food that, when consumed in moderation, can be part of a well-balanced, healthy weight loss meal plan. ~ healthyeating.sfgate.com

Starwberries help burn stored fat, boost short term memory, low in calories - high in fiber, ease inflammation, lower cardiovascular disease, promote bone health, prevent oesophageal cancer, contains anti-ageing properties, good for weight loss and promote eye health. ~ www.care2.com

Blueberries contain antioxidants which work to neutralize free radicals linked to development of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other age-related conditions. ~ www.medicaldaily.com

Banana Nut Crunch Cereal is a delicious mix of real bananas baked into multi grain clusters, multi grain flakes, and specially selected walnuts. It's naturally flavored and provides 4 g of fiber and 40 g of whole grains per serving. ~ redmart.com

I layered the ingredients inside the jar and left it overnight in the fridge. It is a perfect grab 'n go breakfast!

NOTE: It was my first attempt making breakfast in a jar and it was a resounding success based on hubby's feedback. He said it made him feel full whole morning.

TIP: Do not add the banana nut crunch (or any cereal of your preference) and leave in the fridge overnight. I know, I am such a smart alec right? Haha! Leaving it overnight will make you lose it's crunchy goodness. Add the cereal right before eating.

Happy healthy eating, everyone!
