Positive Effects of Music While Studying

According to Clinical Psychologist, Dr Emma Gray:

“Music has a positive effect on the mind, and listening to the right type of music can actually improve studying and learning. Music can put you in a better frame of mind to learn – and indeed, students who listen to music can actually do better than those who don’t. For logical subjects, like Math, music should calm the mind and help concentration, whereas for creative subjects, the music should reflect the emotion that the student is trying to express.”

I did a brief research and read the above quote at elitedaily.com. I was relieved to know that music calms the mind and help children to concentrate. I caught my girl listening to music whilst studying Maths yesterday and I thought it does more harm than good.

Well, I was proven wrong and I am starting to love listening to music too while reading. In fact, I am now thinking of getting an excellent digitech vocalist live 3 as a reward to my diligent student and music lover at home so that if I ran out of an idea of what music to play, I will just let her sing and be carried away by her "singer voice".
