Places for Instant Nature Retreat in Singapore

I am badly in need of nature retreat but since I am working and stuck in the four corners of my workplace right now, I decided to just treat my eyes through photographs of the breathtaking nature places in Singapore that we have been to in the past few years.

1. Hindhede Nature Park
We found Hindhede Nature Park by chance in 2011 while I was pregnant with my second child. Our main goal for that certain weekend was to seek some peace and nature love from Bukit Timah Nature Reserve but we ended up at Hindhede Nature Park which features Hindhede Quarry as its main attraction. It is by far the most peaceful and breathtaking place I have ever been to in Singapore, far, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. In fact, I never expected such place to exist in the ultra modernized city I live in. See more awe-inspiring nature photos here.

2. MacRitchie Reservoir Park
Brought the kids and my mom at MacRitchie Reservoir sometime last year to have our much needed dose of nature love. The emerald green waters and the abundance of trees and plants within the premises of the reservoir is very soothing to the eyes and soul. Too bad we didn't make it to the HSBC Tree Top Walk (hanging bridge) as it started to drizzle while we were exploring the nature trail. I blogged about things to see and do at the reservoir park here.

3. Sentosa Nature Discovery
We have hiked the hiking trails of Sentosa Nature Discovery thrice if my limited memory bank serves me right. Each visit led to a new discovery that made our nature loving family sigh in indescribable joy. This is the only hiking trail in Singapore that we have tried so far and it didn't disappoint the nature seekers in us. The trail is suitable for families with young explorers as the trails are considered relatively flat and certain elevated trails were provided with concrete slabs to make hiking up or down easier. Read more about our hiking adventure here.

Ahhhhhh, I feel so much better now having looked back on our family adventures close to nature. I can't wait to revisit all the places I mentioned above sometime soon!
