Can't decide where to treat your mum this coming Mother's Day? Fret not! Yum Cha Restaurant came up with a mouth-watering exclusive dim sum menu for the very special occasion. You can bring your mum at any of Yum Cha Restaurant's branch (will fill you in with corresponding addresses at the end of this post) from today until 11th of May 2014.
Here's what you are going to salivate about and surely enjoy with your mum:
Mother's Day Exclusive Dim Sum
1) Lavender Bun with Coconut Filling ($2.80 for 2 pcs)
2) Large Prawn Siew Mai with Double Roe ($3.50 per pc)
This huge and luscious prawn siew mai will make you want to order for more once you sink your teeth into it. The large siew mai however is quite filling I only managed to eat one! I don't know about you but I personally like my siew mai dipped in a soy sauce with a sprinkle of lime juice. I still remember how I devour 3-5 pcs of small siew mai at a time when I was a university student in Manila.
3) Glazed Mini Fruit Tart ($2 per pc)
Each piece of this glazed mini fruit tart is fruitilicious! The fruit toppings are definitely fresh and juicy, it will leave you less guilty for indulging on excessive calorie intake. The best thing is, it came in a bite size so you won't feel full at all by the time you finish a piece. It's the sweetest way to end a dim sum date with your beloved mum, literally and figuratively!
Wait, let me retract that! If you think your mum deserves much more than the exclusive dim sum menu, there's nothing to worry about. Yum Cha Restaurant has absolutely more to offer from their regular menu. If you happen to be living in the East of Singapore, here are other delightful choices available at Changi branch:
1) Crispy Roasted Pork, Honey Roast Char Siew and Crispy Roasted Duck
How about this for a starter? Please excuse me but I am literally drooling here while looking at my own photograph. I loved the roasted pork in particular, crispy skin and succulent meat... what more can I ask?
2) Custard Bun
Custard bun is my all time favourite! Imagine sinking your teeth in this not-so-little rounded yellow bun and the flowy and slightly grainy custard filling explodes in your mouth! Ahhhh! I call that happiness in a bun!
3) Fish Congee and Chee Cheong Fun
Hello there comfort food! If your mum is looking for a taste of home, do let her have Yum Cha's signature fish congee and chee cheong fun.
4) Fish Roe Siew Mai, Prawn Dumpling, Crystal Mushroom Dumpling and Crystal Chives Dumpling
My pick amongst this mouth-watering dumpling selection has got to be the crystal chives dumpling. The prawn dumpling was equally good, I just find it's dumpling wrap a bit too thick.
5) Pig Trotter in Vinegar
Pig trotter anyone? This sinful dish is scrumptious! Be warned though if you do not like an overpowering taste of vinegar, this may not be apt to your liking.
6) Pomelo Sago in Mango Sauce and Lemongrass Jelly with Fruits
If you are in need of a refreshing dessert to wash away all the guilt from feasting on dumplings and all the good yet sinful food, these two from the dessert menu is quite appropriate to end your gastronomic indulgence. If you prefer a lighter dessert, go for the lemongrass jelly with fruits.
Bon appétit!
