Whenever I post a food photo on Instagram, I hesitate a little because I was afraid my followers (especially mom bloggers) gets fed up with me spamming their feed with mouthwatering dishes when all they want to do is get rid of some love handles. Imagine my relief when I heard that OpenRice Singapore is cooking up an app exclusive for food lovers when I attended their charity event some time ago.
Having been disconnected in the blogosphere for a while, I have almost forgotten about the app. Good thing the kind folks of OpenRice Sg sent me an invitation for the launch of OpenSnap App. Who am I to say no? Heaven was on my side, all my bosses decided to play golf on the day of the event so I was free to attend the launch at Flutes Restaurant Bar which is conveniently located inside the The National Museum of Singapore.
I was given an all-access press pass and I couldn't be happier and more excited! Even though it rained cats and dogs on my way to the venue, my spirit wasn't dampened by the bed weather. Yes, that's bed spelled correctly. You know when it rains, all you want is to curl up on bed right? Ok, enough of my nonsense. Let's find out what's OpenSnap is all about...
OpenSnap as aptly described by OpenRice is your personalized food photo album. When you download the app (just type OpenSnap in your App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android devices and download it for free), you get full access of OpenRice restaurant information, find nearby restaurants by photos, upload your restaurant or homecooked food photo with the option of adding some fun stickers and filters, tag the restaurant, tag the foodie friends you were with and add appropriate hashtags.
The app is absolutely brilliant, fun and user-friendly. Thanks to Kenett, the country manager of OpenRice Singapore, and his humble team with big dreams, OpenSnap was born out of passion for good food. We can now post photos of our favourite foods and restaurants in real-time, wherever we are! That's what makes OpenSnap a great and perfect travel buddy app. If you are unsure what food and where to eat while overseas, you can use OpenSnap to search food and restaurants in the area where you are.
FACT: OpenSnap will tap into OpenRice's fast rising 1.1 million restaurant repository database which extends through China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. There are customized fun stickers for each country, I am so far loving the local Singaporean stickers. "Don't say I Bo Jio!", ok? Have you downloaded OpenSnap App yet? Please follow me there, my user name is Sweet Memoirs. Let us drool with each other's food photo album, ok? :)
Thank you for graciously hosting us, OpenRice Singapore and Flutes! It was a very special launch of OpenSnap App filled with laughter, good food, fabulous ambience and great company.
