Tablescape at Movenpick Heritage Hotel, Sentosa

About a month ago, hubby and I availed a Groupon Deal at Tablescape, Movenpick Heritage Hotel which is located right opposite The Merlion in Sentosa.

It was one of those rare weekday date nights we do to spend some intimate time together and keep the love alive. It sure feels wonderful to be away from the hyperactive kids who demand 100% attention from us once in a while.

We chose a spot with more privacy so that we could play lovey-dovey without getting much attention from other diners. :D

Here's what we enjoyed eating in between intimate conversations and occasional peck in the cheeks and hands intertwined:

1. Cream of Forest Mushroom Soup
I thought there's only coffee art until we were served this comforting bowl of forest mushroom soup. It doesn't just look good in the eyes, it also tasted great. The mushroom lover in me was very satisfied.

2. Baby Spinach with Honey Mustard Dressing
Hubby and I both love baby spinach but we always eat it with cherry tomatoes and scrambled egg with cheese in a tortilla wholemeal wrap. This was a refreshing change to our usual serving of baby spinach. The honey mustard dressing made it extra palatable.

3. Roasted Spring Chicken
This was my choice from the main course. It came with wild mushroom, mashed garlic potato and Merlot Jus. It tasted new and a little bit strange in my palate.

4. Beer Battered Dory
Hubby's main course. It came with crispy fries and tartar sauce. Hubby said it tasted very ordinary in his palate compared to other beer battered dory he tried before.

5. Caramelized apple and Raisin Crumble
We had two servings of this for dessert (because there's no other choice from the Groupon Deal Menu). It came with Movenpick Vanilla Dream Icecream. I am not so much a fan of vanilla icecream (I only like it when eaten with avocado) but I really liked how the caramelized apple and raisin crumble was made.

6. Free flow of assorted bread and butter
This should be on top but I almost forgot about it. I think the hubby had carbo-overload because of this. :D

I'd say the food, the ambience and the service are just average. What I really love is that, I think we found another potential hotel for a staycation.
