Executive Lunch at La Fondue

Last Friday after collecting the PSLE result from K's school, I brought her along with me at work and surprised her with a fancy schmancy executive lunch at La Fondue in Dempsey Hill which is just a stone throw away from my workplace. She was deeply touched and I was so happy to finally get to spend alone time with her. It's been a while since our last foodie girl's date.

La Fondue is a perfect place to bond over food with your spouse, bestfriend or grown up daughter or son. The restaurant is really cozy and obviously very instagrammable specially that we were the only costumers when we arrived. A couple came about half an hour later but they were seated 2 tables apart from us, it still felt like we have the whole place all to ourselves.

We started our Swiss cuisine gastronomic indulgence with a salad and the soup of the day. The salad was delectable, thanks to the bacon bits but I find the soup too salty. It would have been nicer if the toasted bread with melted Gruyere cheese was served separately.

K had well done grilled beef striploin with rosti potato in red wine jus for main. She devoured it as if it was the tastiest grilled beef she ever tasted.

My pick was the grilled herb cream dory fillet with buttered vegetables in Beurre Blanc. I devoured it less guiltily (because it's a fish people, haha!) but it would have been more pleasurable to eat it if it was less salty.

The highlight of our meal has to be this! Chocolate fondue with fresh fruits, marshmallow and cake. No words needed. I had to keep wiping the chocolate remnant from the corner of K's mouth but I loved watching her enjoying her food way too much. :D

Thank God for the food we eat ate
Thank God for the world my girl so sweet
Thank God for the birds that sing
Thank God for everything

XOXO
