Sea Sun Sand Resort (Feature and Review)

We had a very pleasant stay at Sea Sun Sand Resort during our last vacation in Phuket. (Tip: Locals refer to the resort as Sea Sun, pronounced as C san. If you decide to stay there too and locals ask you where you stay, just say C san. I remember saying Sun Sea Sand because I got confused and a tuktuk driver gave me back a confused look. Haha!)

Sea Sun Sand is a rated 4* resort and spa located at Prabaramee Road, Patong Beach. Here's the map I found from their website:
It is relatively convenient if you wish to make the most out of the vibrant day and night life at Patong Beach. If long walk is not your thing, you can opt to wait for the Sea Sun Sand Resort shuttle bus to bring you to Jungceylon Mall and take a short walk to the beach from there. Just ask the reception for the shuttle bus schedule.

Sea Sun Sand Resort & Spa has multiple buildings as you can see from the photo above. The first building where I marked X is the hotel lobby where you check in and out. The main swimming pool is right below the building C, where our room is located. For us to go to building C, we had to take the lift (between the lobby and building E) to level 3 then walk pass the building E with vertical garden and a wooden pathway filled with orchids on both sides, take another lift at building A, pass by the main swimming pool and finally, take another lift at building C to take us to our room.

I know, it sounds like it's a looooooong journey to our room but taking the lifts are far better than taking the steep staircase all the way up (just like what I read from one blog review). The kids actually enjoyed transferring from one lift to another and walking through the pathways filled with green plants and orchids in bloom.

Let me give you a virtual tour...

The hotel lobby. This spot is situated right in front of the reception. There are about 3 (or more, can't remember) of this similar space in the entire lobby so you really don't have to worry about where to sit while waiting for your room keys or while waiting for the resort shuttle bus to take you out.

The wooden pathway that I mentioned earlier.

Building C with the swimming pool below.

Our room. We asked for an extra bed for K and G slept with us as usual.

Our room's balcony. I forgot to request for room with sea views when I booked so we got hill views instead.

The restroom located right at the room entrance. The kids were delighted to see a spacious bath tub.

The swimming pool with sun loungers, sunset pool bar, and Jacuzzi.

The hotel restaurant. This is where we ate breakfast buffet everyday during our entire stay.

Our view from the restaurant. Imagine having this view while having breakfast buffet every single morning...

Sunset viewing area located near the swimming pool at building C.

This is how it looks like at dusk. Can you picture how stunning the view is at sunset? There are more beautiful spots around the hotel, you can view their website gallery for more eye candy.

What we loved most about Sea Sun Sand Resort apart from its kid-friendly swimming pool and close proximity to Patong Beach is the availability of local cafes and eateries in its neighborhood that offers mouthwatering and cheap Thai food.

Service isn't excellent and the room we stayed at is no longer on its tip top condition but we will definitely come back to stay there again if given an opportunity.
