I have a very scarce supply of creative juice when it comes to DIY/crafting ideas but thanks to Instagram and Pinterest, there are plenty of inspirations for a newbie like me. I am currently following quite a handful of DIY addicts and interior designers over at Instagram because this year, one of my resolutions is to love our home more. In short, I am determined to spend
Last month we already had our new sofa, coffee table, TV console, shoe cabinet and king-sized bed delivered (all from Courts Megastore) but I am not quite happy with my living room and master room decor yet so I will blog about it in another entry when both are ready to be featured. Meanwhile, let me blog about my girl's blue room where I spent most of my CNY long weekend.
Whilst furniture shopping 2 months ago, I spotted this very pretty piece of furniture and decided to just close my eyes (a little expensive) and buy it because it's perfect for my (almost) teenager's room and everyone said it's YAY.
It was finally delivered last Saturday after a week's delay due to the CNY furniture shopping peak season. I wasted no time to decorate it with existing pretty things at home. The rose tin containers are from Ikea, i used it to hide K's mess (pony tails, hair clips, rings, etc).
The washi-fied mirror on top of the cabinet is also from Ikea. Look how a pretty washi can make such an ordinary mirror extraordinary. I felt like a DIY pro after doing it. Haha!
For the photos, I used a jute string and white little wooden pegs which I purchased from Typo at Wisma Atria. K can always change the photos anytime she wants. The dream catcher which I scored from a flea market can also be hanged on either side of the wall shelf.
My only wish for my (almost) teenager is to stay bubbly and kid at heart. This one's my favourite from the photos I displayed. It can be aptly captioned, LIVE. LOVE. LAUGH. I may have to reprint it because this copy has been scratched.
What do you think of my DIY projects? I have to say though that decorating is addicting, especially the DIY part. :)
Beautiful work.
