My Favourite Me-Time Indulgences

If you are a mom like me, you'd know very well how essential me-time is. Personally, me-time keeps me sane and makes me feel good about myself. Here are my 5 favourite me-time indulgences:

1) Hanging out in my place of refuge.
When I have no access to empty churches and adoration chapel, my place of refuge is a place with lush greenery, fresh air and a body of water. It can be a beach, a park or a lake. Let me quote John Burroughs to describe how I exactly feel about seeking refuge in nature: "I go to nature to be soothed and healed and to have my senses put in order."

2) Satisfying my food craving.
A foodie date with myself is one of the most frequent thing I do in my me-time. You know that feeling of being able to savour every bite of your favourite food without a single worry on how to entertain or feed your child when you eat out? Priceless!

3) Going for facial spa.
Admittedly, I haven't been very religious in going for my facial spa treatment but it has always been one of my favourite me-time indulgence. I always leave the beauty centre feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

4) Going for hair treatment.
Similar to the after effect of my spa visits, I always feel pampered when I go for a hair treatment. Needless to say I feel good about myself when my crowning glory is being treated well.

5) Finding time to read a book uninterrupted.
When you become a mom, you rarely get to catch up on your long "books to read" list. Sometimes when I am lucky enough to get a long lunch break at work, I go to a nearby cafe with a book, sit quietly in a corner and devour my book like there's no tomorrow whilst sipping on a good coffee and munching on some yummy treat. During our staycations/vacations, I also steal some me-time to read my book on a sun lounger while the hubby and the kids are swimming.

How about you? What are the things you love to do during your me-time?
