Family Journal: A Week Well Spent

Last week was one of the most well spent week I've ever had. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have a rough idea why I said so but if you don't I tell you why.

Thursday

I accompanied G on his school field trip to the zoo. He had so much fun with his classmates and he tremendously enjoyed my 100% attention as daddy and big sister are not with us.

Friday

I had Fri-date with my first born at one of her favourite Japanese restaurant, Ginza Bairin. It was her last day in school and since they were dismissed early, I asked her to follow me at my workplace so that we can have a dinner date after I knock off. She is turning 13 this coming August and I wish to spend more one-on-one dates with her as often as I could. I know I have mentioned that many times here on the blog but I am still struggling to accept the fact that I am going to be a parent of a teenager soon.

Saturday

As usual, G and I made pancakes for breakfast and blew candles, went to the park and played the whole morning while K catch up on some lost sleep during school days. Before I left to meet my friends, I bathe G and tried my very best not to let him see me leave the house. I had so much fun catching up with my college friends the whole afternoon whilst the hubby took the kids at Singapore Expo to shop for books and stationary.

I left my friends' place around 6:30pm and squeezed in a Satur-date with the hubby at Z'en Japanese Restaurant at UE Square. I had a very satisfying 12-course meal at the same restaurant before with my ex-colleague so when hubby asked me to choose which voucher to avail from his mobile phone points, I chose the 1-for-1 ala-carte meal at Z'en.

Sunday

We attended the mass and had dinner at Wing Zone. I forgot my phone at home so I had no photo taken on Sunday. The rest of the photos in this post are taken with my ever reliable iPhone 6+.

How I wish every week I get to go on a one-on-one date with the kids and the hubby and still manage to meet my friends. It only happens once in a blue moon so I just had to document it for posterity and to let the ONE above know I am truly grateful for the past week well-spent.

Thought to ponder: Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime! Lawrence G. Lovasik
