The main problem for us moms isn’t the amount of different things that we have to do; it’s the fact that we aren’t organized enough. You might have 101 things to do, but if you are organized, you will find it much easier to cope.

You might feel that with everything going on in your life, it’s impossible to get organized. But, trust me on this, it’s not. Getting your life organized is much simpler than you think it is, all it takes is a few small changes.

To help you get more organized, I thought I would share my top organization tips with you, below:

Invest in an organizer

The first thing I would say is to invest in an organizer - this can either be a paper planner or an app. Both types are ideal, it just depends on the type of planner that you will find easier to use. I prefer a good old-fashioned paper planner, but what you choose to use is up to you.

Having a planner will make your life easier as every time you schedule and appointment, event or play date, you can write it in there. If you invest in an organizer that also has room for notes you can jot down anything that you need to make note of as well - I find this very useful.

Get a calendar

Yes, as well as having an organizer, you also need to invest in a calendar. While you use your organizer to jot down all of your meetings and things that you need to do, a calendar can be used by your whole family.

Invest in a calendar that is interesting and eye catching, something with great images. If you want your family to remember to check the calendar each day, it must be something that draws their attention. Destination calendars are ideal, especially if you plan on visiting that place at some point in the year. From an Australia calendar to a Paris calendar, there are lots of lovely destinations that you can choose from.

The best way to keep your calendar organized is to color code it - give each family member a different colored pen. That way, you will be able to see clearly who each item on the calendar relates to.

Create a cheat sheet

‘What’s a cheat sheet?’, I can already hear you wondering. A cheat sheet is a something that every mom needs - it’s a list of all the most important numbers and details.

Your cheat sheet should include the details of your doctor, babysitter, neighbors, and your kids' school. As well as containing contact details, your cheat sheet should also include things like your kids' allergies. As well as information regarding dosages for medications that your children may be on.

Having a cheat sheet with all your family’s information on, makes it easier for you to get contact numbers and other details quickly. Just make sure to put your cheat sheet somewhere that is easy to find, such as on the fridge.

As a mom, staying organized can be tricky, especially when you have so many different things to think about. However, by following the simple tips in this guide, you can make being an organized mommy, much easier for yourself.
