Barrington Rock National Park, NSW

You can’t go wrong with this world heritage listed park, which has an abundance of wildlife - koalas, owls, scrub birds, possums, wallabies and kangaroos. There are plenty of trails for biking and hiking, natural waterways for fishing, swimming, canoeing and crystal clear mountain streams and waterfalls to just admire. There are lots of camping spots throughout the park, which are clean but basic.

Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, Yallingup, WA

With rugged sea cliffs, beautiful sandy beaches and sheltered bays, this national park is well worth a visit. There are a number of great lookout spots where you can watch the powerful southern ocean swells crashing onto the cliffs and the area is renowned for its birdlife, fishing and bush walks. There are plenty of camping ground along the coastline, as well as inland, so there is something for everyone.

Broome, WA

With red sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise water, Broome is a beautiful camping spot at the western edge of the Kimberley range. Check out Roebuck Bay for a slice of old world charm with powered and unpowered sites and reasonable amenities. Spend your days kayaking, visiting the historical pearling museum or the bird observatory, check out the local pearl farm, and take a tour of the Kimberley region or a camel tour along the beach.

Darwin, NT

The gateway to Kakadu National Park, Darwin has some stunning camping spots dotted around, which are suitable for all the family.
