It can be tough to keep your energy levels up at work at the best of times, but in the cold darkness of winter it can seem impossible. It’s a good idea to choose instrumental music, as it can be hard to ignore lyrics or stop yourself from singing along in your head. Soft background music that serves as a relaxing bit of white noise could be just what you need to perk yourself up again.


Rest your eyes – and your brain


Aside from eyestrain and sore muscles, sitting staring at a computer screen for hours on end isn’t good for your concentration levels either. However, it can be easier than you think to give yourself a break.


Going outside or even taking a walk around the office is a good idea, but if you can’t do that, just stare into space for a while. Choose a point in the room and focus on that for about 20 seconds every 20 minutes of your computer work. It will give your eyes a chance to rest, and give your brain a mental boost.
