*This is NOT a sponsored hotel review for Conrad Centennial Singapore.
I always had this notion that Conrad Centennial Hotel is only ideal for businessmen and the likes. Whenever I plan for our family staycation, I never really considered booking one at Conrad until one day, the hubby mentioned that he could use his points from his mobile plan to secure a staycation there.
"If it's cheap, let's go for it!", I said gleefully after knowing that he is actually planning to book the hotel already as a Mother's Day gift to me. It turned out as one of the most memorable and wonderful staycations we had in Singapore.
Conrad Centennial Hotel may not be an ideal staycation place for a family with a toddler but you may consider staying there for the following reasons:
The hotel is ideally located in the bustling and vibrant Marina Bay area. During our stay, we managed to catch an exhibit in honour of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, throw coins at the Fountain of Wealth and visit the Alive Museum at Suntec City which is located right across the hotel. We also had grand time window shopping and food hunting at Marina Square which is just a walking distance from the hotel.
This was the spectacular view from our room located at the 17th floor. We regretted not upgrading to a club room to avail the Club benefits but our stay turned out to be nothing short of awesome nonetheless. I had a relaxing time watching the beautiful world go by and counting sailboats floating at Marina Bay with my toddler during our downtime.
The view at night is equally incredible, we were treated to a stunning display of the brightly lit Singapore Skyline on the bed and even spotted the glowing Merlion before hesitantly drawing the curtains closed.
Other things to look forward to in a Conrad Hotel room are:
- clean and opulent marbled bathroom
3) THE SWIMMING POOL
The 20-m swimming pool is only suitable for adults and big kids (no separate pool for small kids) but that didn't stop my toddler from having fun with his dad and big sister.
The view at the pool is great both day and night. It is a nice place to just chillax and breathe in the goodness of life. During our entire stay, we only encountered another family with small kid in the swimming pool. The rest of the guests we bumped into are either businessmen in business suits or childless couples having a drink whilst lounging by the poolside.
4) BREAKFAST BUFFET AT OSCARS
If ever I will have the chance to stay at Conrad again, the impressive breakfast buffet at the Oscars is something that I am going to really look forward to. Just looking at my Mother's Day breakfast plate again filled with my all-time favourites (egg benedict, smoked salmon, crispy bacon, sausage and croissant) made my mouth salivate profusely. Oscars food offering is worth raving about, it deserves all its awards.
5) THE EXCELLENT SERVICE
Little details always make a big difference. My toddler loved his Conrad signature bear and rubber ducky, and we all love the chocolates too! The hotel staff were attentive and friendly, they even provided G a toddler slipper.
What impressed me in particular is the complimentary fruits on stick and cold water served by the pool. I am one of those moms who always wish to feed my kids fresh fruits and keep them hydrated so I really appreciated it.
Final verdict: We tremendously enjoyed our stay and we will jump into every opportunity to stay at Conrad Centennial Singapore again!
